PLANS for 12 new houses near Redruth have been submitted.

Robertson Development Limited wants to build two bungalows, four two-bedroom homes and six three-bedroom homes on land next to Wilkindon Gardens.

If plans are approved by Cornwall Council the developer will put up £1,825 per house for use in the community, under a Section 106 agreement required of all such projects.

Local resident Sue Thomas took to the council's planning website to object to the application, writing: "Sandy Lane, it is an extremely busy road and very fast with nobody adhering to speed limits, we at the moment have very limited sighting from one side and if there is a give way (supposed) in front of the property it would make it even more difficult."

The council's children's services department has also objected to the plans.

But South West Water and Natural England have given no objections.

    £1,825? From £300,000 houses? Aren't they generous.
