A FORMER Penzance man has been jailed for nine and a half years after admitting to raping a woman in an “exceptionally violent” attack in 2008.
Lee Hosking, aged 28, now of Hastings, appeared at Truro Crown Court today where he pleaded guilty to three counts of rape.
He attacked a woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, while on a night out in Penzance on May 5, 2008.
Officer in the case, Detective Inspector Stuart Ellis said: “Lee Hosking has today pleaded guilty to an exceptionally violent rape.
“Every case of rape is treated with the utmost seriousness.”
DI Ellis said he hoped that the victim would get some small comfort now that Hosking had finally been brought to justice.
He added: “Since 2008, the victim of this terrible offence has had to live with its devastating effects and will inevitably have to continue to do so. Every aspect of her life, her relationships, her career and her health have been irrevocably damaged since she was attacked.”
