Penryn Athletic 4, Porthleven 1

THREE goals in the last 18 minutes helped Penryn Athletic to victory over Dennis Annear’s Porthleven at Kernick on Saturday.

Port had drawn level through Freddie Williams early in the second half, before the hosts stormed ahead to claim a deserved win.

After Ed Wilton had saw his early effort come back off the bar, Josh Hoon headed Penryn into a seventh minute lead from Dave Broglino’s cross.

Sam Kay was unlucky not to level for Port in the 32nd minute when his looping header came back off the post.

Porthleven had more luck in the second half, though, and in the 51st minute Williams headed in Tom Annear’s brilliant cross from the left.

But it was Wilton’s finish in the 72nd minute, after bursting through from the halfway line, that set Penryn on the way to victory.

Former Port midfielder Kevin Lawrence added a third two minutes later with a low effort into the bottom corner.

And in the 90th minute substitute Tyler Cooke completed the scoring.
