Penair School’s U14s netball team are celebrating qualifying for the England Netball’s National Finals in Liverpool, in March.
The girls, travelled to the regional tournament at Bournemouth on Saturday as Cornwall champions and played some outstanding netball to beat six out of seven teams in the group stages, including Blundell’s (Devon), Clifton College (Avon) and Clayesmore (Dorset).
The group results meant that Penair qualified for the semi finals in second place and had to overcome the winners of the second group in order to finish in a national qualifying place.
The semi final match saw Penair down by two goals at half time, but the Cornish girls dug deep and played some exceptional netball pulling the game back to win by one goal.
They are one of only two schools who will be representing the South West of England along with Millfield (Somerset).
