THE owners of a popular St Mawes hotel have announced the purchase of another hotel property in the village.

Karen and David Richards, who own the Idle Rocks, have taken over ownership of the St Mawes Hotel, located only 200 yards away.

They have appointed Tim House as managing director, overseeing the running of both hotels.

Mr House brings with him more than 27 years of senior management experience in award-winning hotels including The Savoy Group, The Halcyon, L'Hôtel in Paris and Cowley Manor.

Mrs Richards said: "We are very excited by this new acquisition and are particularly pleased that Tim will be joining us to head up both operations.

"His reputation for bringing out the best in teams, coupled with his in-depth knowledge of the luxury end of the hospitality industry, makes him the perfect choice to move us onto the next level."

The harbourfront St Mawes Hotel will undergo an extensive facelift with all bedrooms being refurbished in time for the summer season.
