THE Old School Bar & Kitchen (OSBK) opened its doors in Mount Hawke in August last year, and celebrates its first anniversary on Saturday.

Thanks to a huge amount of local support OSBK has become a busy and successful gastro-pub. The staff want to thank all their customers by throwing a free party to celebrate turning one.

Last year OSBK had an opening party which attracted a crowd of more than 2,500 customers.

They hope to beat that this year with a huge day planned.

Manager David Clilverd said: "We have had such a successful year, and absolutely could not have done this without the support of our fantastic customers. We want to throw a party to thank all the people who made our first year so enjoyable."

Music for the day will be provided by local acoustic singer Jo Horne, popular dub/ska band The Stalks, and reggae act Konquerin Soundz. Kitchen staff will be serving up a hog roast and barbecue, and there will be plenty of activities for the kids including bouncy castle and face-painting.

This is an open event and anyone is welcome to come and enjoy a great day out.

David added: "Thanks to our local support we are looking to be open for many years, and look forward to see what the future brings."
