North Cornwall MP Dan Rogerson has called on businesses in the region to get involved win a share of the Regional Growth Fund, which has opened for a new round of bidding.
The Coalition Government scheme has already created or safeguarded around 28,000 jobs in Cornwall and the South West and round four of the fund will be worth £350 million of investment to create jobs in the UK.
Round four of the Regional Growth Fund will be worth £350m of investment to create jobs and growth across the country.
Mr Rogerson said: "The Regional Growth Fund is an important part of the Liberal Democrat efforts in the Coalition Government to build a stronger economy in a fairer society. Already it has made a real difference to small and medium sized businesses in North Cornwall.
"Last week £1.5 million from the Regional Growth Fund was awarded to Bodmin's Proper Cornish pasty company to protect 180 jobs, create 50 new ones and to help the firm move to new premises.
"I worked at Proper Cornish when I was a student and when they were much smaller, so I am really pleased to see this investment in the company and in jobs for Bodmin.
"I will be working with business in our area to ensure we get the best out of the Regional Growth Fund and create sustainable jobs now and in the future."
