COMPANIES and individuals from across the county were recognised for their innovation and commitment as employers at the Cornwall Business Awards.
More than a dozen awards were handed out at a ceremony at St Mellion International Resort, near Saltash.
Offshore personnel transfer company Reflex Marine, of Shortlanesend, scored a hat trick, scooping the Winner of Winners Award, gold for Employer of the Year category and Best International Business.
Kim Conchie, chief executive of Cornwall Chamber, said: "Reflex Marine demonstrated commercial success, innovation and a great export record – together with a high degree of local collaboration in a sector that is building a global reputation for Cornwall. For the judges, this was a winning combination."
Insurance company Cornish Mutual, based in Truro, won the award for Customer Focus for its personal service.
Other winners in the 14 categories included Happy Energy, Pool, for Best New Business; SW Laundry, Hayle, for Best Family Business; and Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust's gold award for Best Third Sector Business.
In categories honouring individuals, Paul Sweaton and Roger Edwards, from Vision Independent Financial Planning in Falmouth, jointly won Entrepreneur of the Year; Matthew Lugg, of MJL Group contractors, Helston, won Business Leader of the Year; and Josh Hosking, from ICT4 in Redruth, which has pioneered the use of superfast broadband in schools, won Young Businessperson of the Year.
Suzanne Bond, chief executive of Cornwall Development Company, said: "The Cornwall Business Awards honour the very best of Cornwall's business community. Every year the bar seems to be raised higher and higher.
"The winners illustrate how talent, quality, innovation and responsible business practices are thriving in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly."
