A SOLICITOR has semi-retired after more than 50 years in the business.

During more than 30 years as Penryn's only solicitor, Chris Rose has also been honorary solicitor to Penryn Town Council, a trustee of the ancient borough's Town Trust, and holds the title of notary public.

He said: "I am extremely fond of Penryn and Falmouth.

"For me, Penryn and its people are unique and my 49 years in Falmouth and Penryn will always have a special place.

"It is where I have made my home and where now my two fine grandsons will hopefully be brought up."

He has moved to Falmouth firm Hine Downing as a consultant.
