New Mercedes showroom is officially opened

After undergoing a mammoth refit during the latter part of 2013 the staff of Mercedes-Benz of Truro were joined by 150 customers to celebrate the reopening of their new showroom.

The revamp incorporates a whole new level of luxury and personal service.

Guests were greeted with delicious refreshments, mouth-watering canapés and some exceptional entertainment from The Gershwin Gang Jazz Band.

The showroom was officially opened by their apprentice technician and local hero, Peter Birkett cut the ribbon.

Peter tragically lost his mother and sister at the age of 11. With the help and support of the Cornish charity Penhaligon's Friends, he was able to cope with his bereavement.

When given the opportunity to participate in the One Show's Rickshaw Challenge, Pete and his father Geoff jumped at the chance to raise money for Children in Need which has supported Penhaligon's Friends and raised a staggering £1,523,974.

To continue support for this remarkable Redruth-based charity, Mercedes-Benz of Truro will be donating £25 for each used car sold during its Approved Used Event, running from this Thursday until February 2.

To add to the excitement of their new showroom, staff also launched the opening of a brand new dedicated and authorized Mercedes-Benz Light Commercial Vehicle Service Centre. The company also unveiling of the new MyService for Truro customers, which offers customers four choices which are aimed at making their service experience more convenient and affordable for them. With improved facilities, visitors will find the new 'customer lounge' with complimentary refreshments, newspapers and TV, dedicated 'business zones' with free Wi-Fi for those not wanting any disruption to their working day, and even a 'children's area' to keep young visitors amused.

"Mercedes-Benz of Truro would like to take this opportunity to thank customers for their patience throughout the showroom re-fit and site development," said a spokesman for the German car giant.
