The Met Office has issued a warning of ice on Cornwall’s roads as surface temperatures look set to plummet.
The Exeter-based Met Office issued a warning earlier today, set to come in to force from 9.00pm until January 11 10.00am.
A spokesman said there is still a lot of surface water around and coupled with dropping temperatures, it could make for dangerous driving conditions.
A spokesman said: “Surface temperatures will fall to around or just below freezing later on Friday evening over parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland and during Friday night across parts of England and Wales.
“With a lot of standing water present in many areas from the recent wet weather and flooding icy stretches are expected to form, particularly on untreated surfaces.
“The public should be aware of the potential for disruption to travel on the roads.
