THERE'S a fantastic free family day out at Chyvarloe Farm just outside Helston, on Sunday from 11am to 4pm. You might remember all the publicity about the huge pig – Boris – he made the local and national papers; well, now is your chance to meet him and his other half Marj.
Also on show will be Tweety the emu, Godfrey the pet turkey, plus cows, calves and Iron Mike the bull.
The chickens will be wandering about and the chance to give Oopsi Daisy the calf a bit of a fuss.
You can buy fresh meat and veg, and lots of other goodies at the indoor farmers' market (the only one actually on a farm in Cornwall). A barbecue, refreshments, tea and coffee will keep you going.
There will be ploughing and baling demonstrations and both vintage and modern machinery on show.
Lots for children to do – face-painting, a farm trail, mask-making and wonderful the Storyteller, plus much more. The farm will be signposted from the turning off the main A3083 Lizard road, opposite the main entrance to RNAS Culdrose.
