SAM Matthews returned to one of his former clubs to inspire Bodmin Town to an emphatic victory in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League premier division at Lux Park.
The lively midfield man scored twice in three minutes just before half time to put the points beyond reach after Lewis Reed, another former Liskeard man, had opened the scoring in the 19th minute.
Matthews struck after 32 and 35 minutes to make it 3-0 against a Liskeard side giving s debut in midfield to former St Blazey hard man Danny Bance.
Mark Berry scored Bodmin's fourth in the 65th minute to reward a hard-working personal performance, and substitute Luke Hodge completed the scoring five minutes from time after great work by Kevin Miller and Matthews.
The result keeps Bodmin in second place, two points behind leaders Buckland, who were 3-0 winners over Wadebridge.
