Massive fire at St Columb workshop

A massive fire broke out at a workshop near St Columb overnight.

A total of six fire crews and a water carrier were called out to deal with the blaze.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said the incident involved a detached building used as an engineering workshop.

The fire was discovered just after 3am this morning at Tregaswith, St. Columb.

At one point firefighters were concerned there may have been gas cylinders in the workshop.

Crews from St Columb, St Dennis, St Austell and St Just, two crews from Newquay and the water carrier from Wadebridge all attended the incident.

By 6.30am the incident was being scaled down. Nobody is understood to have been injured.
