FOR lovers of words, Marazion was the place to be on Thursday and Friday.

The Godolphin Arms hosted the first Ickle Feste, a free and inclusive event created by local writer and poet Abigail Wyatt and her friend Jak Stringer.

The festival comprised a number of different events inspired by the spoken and written word – with plenty of music thrown and was opened by Marazion mayor Derek Laity.

Among the highlights were performances by emerging Lostwithiel band Goodbye Joel, children’s readings by Abigail Wyatt and Sennen children’s author Janeta Hevizi and a reading by Dr Alan Kent, one of Cornwall’s foremost literary figures.
