A major fire has broken out at a house in Penzance next door to the office of the local MP.
Firefighters from six stations are dealing with the fire in the bedroom of a house on Mennaye Road.
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said crews were using breathing apparatus, hosereels and jets to tackle the blaze.
The fire is understood to be in a large house converted into flats next door to the office of Andrew George, MP for West Cornwall.
It is not yet known if anybody has been injured in the blaze.
The incident has caused serious traffic congestion in the area.
