THIS year, Hawkins Motors are celebrating serving the Cornish motorist for 80 years.

Living up to the motto "such nice people to deal with" has been paramount to having customers go back to them for many years, and returning clients like Mr Ron Hicks, of Grampound, have proved they like to deal with them.

Mr Hicks recently collected the keys to his Peugeot 207 SW from salesman Clive Grose, with whom he has dealt for 23 years.

In 1948, at the age of 16, Ron sold a pig for £10 to buy a pushbike from Hawkins Motors' founder, Billy Hawkins.

Back in 1953 he came out of the Army and purchased a 250 AJS motorbike for £112, also from Billy.

Now, at 80 years old, Ron has just purchased his 15th vehicle from Hawkins Motors St Stephen.

Ron said: "I have chosen Hawkins Motors for all these years because I trust the sales team will give me the best advice and I always end up with a vehicle that suits my needs perfectly."

Hawkins Motors have a wide range of new and used Peugeots for sale at their dealership in St Stephen, alongside the Truck and Van Centre, home to new and used Peugeot vans, Great Wall pick-ups, Isuzu pick-ups and a variety of makes of nearly new and used vans.
