A FALMOUTH solicitor is enjoying improved online communications thanks to a new superfast connection.

Preston Goldburn discovered its superfast connection speed of up to 80 megabytes per second has improved online communications with customers as well as reducing travel time.

Tim Goldburn, partner at Preston Goldburn, said: "As solicitors, we have to verify the identity of all our clients to prove to the National Crime Agency that we have taken all reasonable steps to avoid identity and mortgage fraud.

"Superfast broadband means this process is much easier."

Using the connection, rolled out through the £132 million Superfast Cornwall project, makes it easier for the company's lawyers to work securely from home, from court, or wherever they are.

It is expected that by the end of 2014, 95 per cent of homes and businesses in Falmouth will be able to order fibre broadband through the joint initiative by BT, Cornwall Council, Cornwall Development Company and the European Union.
