LISKEARD Community Hospital League of Friends has marked it’s 10 year anniversary after raising more than £180,000.
Proceeds raised through the café, together with funds from events organised by the committee, has been spent on vital equipment for patients, visitors and staff.
The cafe at the hospital held a celebration of its anniversary on Saturday (March 1) where donations could be given.
Roy Illing, chairman of the League of Friends, said: “It went really well, we raised £104 on the day.
“It was our way of saying thank you to all the people who have supported us throughout the last 10 years.
“Our main fundraiser is our coffee shop- every bit of money goes directly towards the hospital.”
The café has about 30 volunteers who help out.
Equipment donated to patients includes specialist beds, chemotherapy items, Christmas presents and televisions.
