Lightning creates map of Cornwall in skies over Threemilestone

Among the hundred of photographs of lightning taken across Cornwall last night, one stands out for an unexpected reason.

This image, taken by Lizzy Smith at Threemilestone, appears to have captured a map of Cornwall in the skies above the village.

The astonishing pattern created by the lightning clearly shows the outline of the Duchy, and even includes features including Cape Cornwall and the Lizard.

    It is missing part of North Cornwall near Bude.
