Lee Hodges calls on Truro City fans for support

Farnborough 4 Truro City 1

A TIRED-LOOKING City side suffered a third straight defeat on Tuesday night, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the Blue Square Bet South table.

They trailed 2-0 at half time, after some sloppy defending, and although Marcus Martin's first goal of the season 18 minutes from time gave them a glimmer of hope, two late goals by the Hampshire side condemned City to their eighth defeat of the season.

Now manager Lee Hodges must turn his attentions to Saturday's visit of third from bottom AFC Hornchurch (3pm).

And he has made an impassioned plea for City's supporters to again turn out in force to boost his side's desperate fight to avoid relegation.

He said: "We want more of the same as we had against Sutton with our fans out in big numbers. The boys really appreciate it and hopefully we can reward them with three points."

It is likely to be the last game for City for Dan Green, who is expected to join another former Truro player, defender Arran Pugh, at league rivals Dorchester. He missed Tuesday's game because of work commitments.

Kieffer Moore could return after "concussion".

Andy Watkins is a continuing doubt after having to come off at half time with a hamstring problem on Tuesday, with Ivybridge defender Todd Hanrahan making his debut.

Hodges said: "We did not deserve to lose 4-1, though the boys did look a bit leggy.

"We had players out of position but it is all we can do at the moment."

TRURO CITY: Sandercombe; Hall, Williams, Ash, Hopkinson, Broad, Cooke, Martin, Watkins (Hanrahan h-t), Carne, Afful. Subs (not used): Hodges.

Goals: Tarpey (15) 1-0, Connolly (41) 2-1; Martin (72) 2-1 Inman (84) 3-1, Day (90) 4-1).
