Launceston Police appeal for information on burglary involving elderly victim

Police in Launceston are appealing for information following a burglary involving an elderly victim.

An elderly female was at her home in Lynher Way when she saw a man in the hallway of her property who claimed he was selling tea towels.

When he left, the victim discovered a large sum of cash had been stolen from her bedroom.

The incident occurred around 2pm on Wednesday December 11 in North Hill, near Launceston.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police, said: “The suspect is described as being a white man, medium build, approximately 5’8” in height, clean shaven with short fair hair. He was dressed in smart dark clothing and was carrying a small dark bag.”

Police are appealing for anyone who saw a man in the area at the time or anyone who has information as to the identity of the suspect.
