LABOUR'S Parliamentary candidate for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle met Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls to discuss transport issues in Cornwall.
Michael Foster said: "This is a major issue for Cornwall and it is deeply disappointing to find that money for transport in Cornwall is not even mentioned in government transport plans.
"I went to meet with Ed Balls to make our case. At the moment all the money in the investment pot is going elsewhere.
"The next Labour government will face a tough economic climate but Ed Balls listened carefully to the points I raised with him and we will have further discussions.
"The line break at Dawlish is only one of the big challenges – bus services are being cut, train times to London must be quicker and the road network is badly in need of repair and improvement."
Mr Foster said he also made representations to Minister Patrick McLoughlin that none of the £38 million of the coalition's and Network Rail's spend 2015 to 2020 is due for expenditure in Cornwall.
