PIRATICAL entertainment is taking place all over Penzance this weekend to help mark the Guinness World Record attempt.

Today until May 25

Pirate Pop-up Shop: A week of pirate fun, storytelling, art, face-painting, costume advice, buy your accessories, photobooth for your official portraits (costumes and props available).

Friday, May 23

Pirate costume-making workshop: free pirate costume-making workshop. Materials, and sewing free, just turn up with your ideas. The Giving Shop, The Wharfside.

Green screen pirate films: Penwith College media deptartment presents Green Screen Pirate film fun at the Pirate Pop-up Shop. See info@popuppenzance.co.uk for more details.

Pirate folk music: an evening of sea and pirate-related traditional folk music presented by Singing Cellar, and Bath Inn Folk at The Bath Inn. Free entry, doors open at 8pm.

Under-18s' pirate party: Held at Sound nightclub in Market Jew Street. Tickets on door, £5. From 7.30pm to 10pm.

Saturday, May 24

Pirate walks: (also May 25 and 26). Leave from The Bag of Rags (The Quay), family friendly, one hour. See www.piratesontheprom.co.uk for times. Free, donations to RNLI.

Make a pirate hat: make a pirate hat, to add to your outfit to wear for the Pirate World Record attempt at Penlee House.

All About Pirates: presented by Steph Haxton at The Exchange. Family friendly. Donations, doors open 7pm.

Sunday, May 25

Pirates by Groundling Theatre: at the Acorn 2pm, and 5.30pm; 3.30pm "Talk like a Pirate" children's workshop. Tickets, performance Adult £5, Children £4, workshop Child £3.99, Child combined ticket £6, CRBO.

Entertainment in the Spingo Tent, The Quay: Noon to 1pm The Odd Folk + guests; 1pm to 2pm Gurdy Bird with Tros an Treys, Cold Start; 2pm to 3pm Ash and Ei, and friends; 3pm to 4pm Jeffrey Nuthin; 4pm to 6pm Strange Brew; 6pm to 7pm Captain's Beard. All free.

Charity rugby match: Penlee Lifeboat Crew v Penzance Firefighters, Cornish Pirates rugby ground, 2.30pm kick off, free entry.

RNLI charity gig: Blue Sky Events Marquee, Cornish Pirates rugby ground, Mad Dog Mcrea supported by Ashmoon. Doors open 6.30pm, tickets £10 from CRBO.

Pre-World Record pirate party:

Sound nightclub, tickets on door; 11pm to 5am.

Monday, May 26

RNLI charity gig: RNLI charity gig, Blue Sky, 3 Daft Monkeys (plus very special guest), Pyrates (from Holland), Black Fridays, and Pirate Copy in Events Marquee, Cornish Pirates rugby ground. Doors open 5pm, tickets £10 CRBO.

Pirates Of Penzance, Illyria Theatre Company: Pirates Of Penzance, Illyria Theatre Company. The Triangle next to Jubilee Pool. Free performance.

Pirate Maritime Festival: Spingo Tent on the Quay. Free entertainment the whole weekend.
