All flights to the Isles of Scilly have been cancelled today due to severe weather, while passengers booked for Friday have been asked to reconsider their plans.

Passengers booked onto any of today's Skybus services from both Newquay and Land's End will be entitled to a full refund, or will be able to rebook for a future date.

Doubts have also been raised over flights on Friday, with more rain and wind due to sweep across the region.

A spokesman for Isles of Scilly Travel said: "Due to adverse weather conditions forecast for the afternoon of Friday 20th December, Skybus passengers may wish to consider changing their travel arrangements.

"Amendments will be free of charge and are subject to seat availability. Please call our Travel Centre on 0845 710 5555 or visit our Travel Centre in Hugh Town, St Marys should you wish to amend your booking."
