YOU MAY have heard on the grapevine, whispered rumours over coffee; is Sam’s coming to Truro?

Sam’s - which already runs successful restaurants in Fowey and Polkerris - has confirmed it is indeed opening Sam’s in the City, in New Bridge Street, and the business has a rather innovative method of recruiting its new staff on Thursday, June 27.

Following on from winning Employer of the Year at the Cornwall Business Awards, the Sam’s crew are looking forward to the next project in their already bustling schedule.

Sam and Emma Sixton established their trademark burger bistro Sam’s Fowey in 1988 with a second restaurant Sam’s on the Beach opening in 2009 in Polkerris. Their latest expansion, Sam’s Vans, hastaken them all over Cornwall and Devon with a pop-restaurant.

The business is recruiting a complete team to run the Truro restaurant, from chefs to front of house. Holding court on Lemon Quay, Truro, this Thursday from 10am to 5pm will be their two VW campers – open for interviews.

Working alongside Smith and Reed recruitment, and joined by Truro College and Cornwall College Business’ Back to Work programme, Sam and the crew will be chatting to potential employees in the Cocktail Van.

Interviewees will have the opportunity to leave a video message, stating why they should be part of the team, in the video booth in the Champagne van.

Anyone interested in being interviewed on the day should head to www.samsfowey.co.uk to fill in some quirky facts about themselves.
