HUNDREDS of spectators packed out Madron on Boxing Day to witness the traditional meeting of the hunt.

The post-Christmas meet is a tradition carried out across the country and the event in Madron was attended by almost 50 riders.

It followed a smaller meet in Zennor on December 18 attended by no more than half a dozen riders.

Joint master of the Western Hunt Richard Trezise said: "The Zennor meet was a very good day, as was the Boxing Day meet, everyone enjoys themselves and it is all part of the fun.

The Stirrup Cup was presented by Shawn Preece in Madron.

The sooner ''hunting'' is consigned to the dustbin of history that contains slavery, sexism, racism etc. the better. The sooner the south west media stop their sycophantic pandering to the animal abusers the better too.
