Huge hole on seafront at Newlyn

A huge hole caused by this week’s storm has appeared on the seafront at Newlyn Green.

A hole, roughly six feet in size, was first caused by the storm on Monday morning but, after another high tide in the evening, had been extended so that it is now around 20ft long and 8-10 ft deep.

Cormac staff are at the site this morning and engineers are expected to investigate this afternoon with the hope that, weather permitting, repair work can begin tomorrow.

The area has been barricaded off so that members of the public are not in danger.
