A horse got stuck in a bog near Looe on Monday afternoon.
A 15 hand horse became stuck in soft mud up to its belly at around 2pm at Morval Valley.
Specialist water rescue and line rescue teams from St Austell and crews with a land rover from Looe attended but on arrival the horse had managed to get out itself.
A fire spokesman said: “The male horse was around 400 metres away from the closest road access and on crews arrival they made their way to the incident scene on foot with line rescue equipment.
“On return to the horse the animal had rescued itself.”
