Helston, Mullion and St Keverne prepare for Remembrance Day

THERE will be services on Sunday and Monday to remember those killed in the world wars and later conflicts.

There will be parades by the Royal British Legion in Helston, Mullion and St Keverne.

Sailors from RNAS Culdrose will also be present in Helston.

The parade meets at 2.30pm in the Co-op car park and will march through town for a service at St Michael's Church at 3pm. There will also be a Remembrance Day concert at the church at 7.30pm with Helston Town Band and St Keverne Male Voice Choir. Entry is £5 on the door.

In Porthleven, the parade on Sunday will be led by Porthleven Town Band. It will leave from the public hall at 2.15pm and there will be a service at St Batholomew's Church at 2.30pm, followed by the laying of wreaths at the war memorial.

Over in Mullion, the Royal British Legion parade is assembling at 2.45pm on Sunday to march to the church. There will be refreshments at a café at the Legion hall after the parade.

In St Keverne, the parade will be led by St Keverne Band and meets on Sunday at 10.40am by the statues. There will be a short service in the village square followed by a service at the church. On Monday, Armistice Day, there will be further small services at war memorials at 11am.
