More heavy rain and gale-force winds are on their way are on their way to Cornwall at the end of the week.

The Met Office has issued weather warnings for Cornwall and further afield for Friday and Saturday.

Forecasters said up to 30mm of rain was expected to fall quite widely with up to 40mm on high ground.

Flooding is also a possibility with the heavy rain falling on saturated ground.

The yellow warnings mean the public should be aware of the bad weather.

A spokesman for the Met Office said: “Another very deep area of low pressure will spread heavy rain and strong to gale-force winds eastwards across the UK during Friday, before the associated frontal systems clear the southeast of England during the early hours of Saturday.

“Following recent wet weather, the areas highlighted have saturated ground and are particularly sensitive to further heavy rain.”

"The yellow warnings mean the public should be aware of the bad weather.". I mean, *** ....!!!!! Anyone else find these "coloured" warnings a complete waste of space? I mean, they then have to explain what the weather's like to justify that particular warning, so why not just tell us in the first place?? Aaaarrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ................... DS
