A great turnout and a variety of creative floats helped ensure Hayle Illuminated Christmas Carnival was “the best in years.”
Hundreds of people lined the route along Commercial Road, where the six trailers with decorated floats left to parade through the town.
The best overall float this year went to Hayle and District Lions Club who had the brightest and loudest display in the procession.
Jayne Quick, organiser, said she was thrilled with how the evening went.
“It was absolutely fantastic. There were more lights, more music, it was better than the last few years,” she added.
“People love to see it and the kids dress up. There was a really good atmosphere this year.”
Since the death of former Hayle carnival chair, Richard Horwell, Mrs Quick said it was important that the event keeps going to honour his memory.
Other groups which took part in the procession included Hayle Surf Life Saving Club, Hayle Youth Drama and Hayle Gig Club.
Vintage cars and a tractor decorated in lights also took part in the show.
The event raised £500 which will go towards the summer carnival.
