Hayle and District Lions Club celebrated 26 years of fundraising at its annual charter dinner.
More than 70 people attended the evening at the West Cornwall Golf Club.
The charter dinner is a way for club members and volunteers to celebrate their fundraising efforts.
Maureen George, club member, said the evening was a great success.
“[the charter dinner] celebrates the club's anniversary and gives the club an opportunity to thank everyone who is a member and others who have helped to raise funds throughout the year. All monies raised are used to help individuals and clubs in Hayle. We have great fun raising money and helping our local community, we are busy planning all our Christmas activities at present.”
Some of the organisations which the club have raised money for throughout the year include Hayle Boxing Club, St Julia’s Hospice and Hayle swimming pool.
Hayle and District Lions club are looking for new members. Anyone interested in joining should attend the Passmore Edwards Institute on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm.
