Hayle Boxing club success sees extra classes start

Since launching last year a Hayle boxing club has been so successful it has started extra classes.

Hayle Boxing Academy, affiliated to St Ives Bay ABC, has had well attended weekly training sessions since it opened in September.

So much so that members have now requested that as well as the regular Thursday night session a second training evening should be held on a Tuesday at the club, which is run from Hayle Community School.

Club founder and head coach, Andrew Wheeler, said: "Hayle has long needed a boxing club and this extra evening now means our members both here and at St Ives ABC who train Monday and Wednesday evenings, have opportunities to train four evenings a week.”

Thursday sessions begin with six to eleven years age group at 5pm and women’s fitness at 6pm.

Open class boxing is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.15pm.

Club coaches are ABAE registered, CRB checked and first aid certified.
