A PLEDGE of more ‘glitz and glam’, a sensational line-up of artists and a raft of improvements - plus the usual high end production - promises to make the Summer Masked Ball one of the events of 2014.

Dance heavyweights Groove Armada have confirmed a DJ set for the headline slot, and will join a carefully curated line-up of top artists and performers to set the scene for a night of unrivalled hedonism against the soundtrack for the summer.

Disco legends Horsemeat Disco from the legendary Glastonbury venue NYC Downlow feature alongside LCD Soundsystem’s favourite tuneslayer Shit Robot and Marcus Marr from the New York DFA label in a lavishly decorated ballroom.

Jazz, funk and rare groove maestros Jelly Jazz will be running the funkiest club south of the North Pole in The Soul Circus Tent, featuring a massive 12-hour line up heavy on the groove.

A new addition to the Summer Masked Ball in 2014, is a live stage on the upper terrace hosting sets from South West party favourites Dreadzone, Masked Ball residents The Cuban Brothers and Rosie Vanier’s new band LightKnife - with more to be confirmed.

Dancehall favourites Sir Vinyl will once again by taking over the infamous Snow Dome this time in conjunction with legendary dub pioneers Trojan Sound System alongside festival favourite MC Boogaloo Dee.

Other artists also on the bill so far include: Horse Meat Disco, Electric Rescue, John Askew, Panda, The Stills, Jac The Disco, Barons of Funk, DJ Format, Mad Mats, DJ Griff, Pete Issacs, Lee John, Haydn Jay and Mongolian Disco Show.

Other notable changes and improvements include: a new security and stewarding team, a lowered capacity to allow more room to roam, brighter lighting in car parks and camping areas and a improved layout of the event arena.

The VIP camping area is back and bigger and better than before, for those who prefer to chill in style. Luxury, premium accommodation options include bell tents, tipis, and The Masked Ball’s very own hobbit huts. The new VIP camping field is close to the arena where a limited number of camping pitches are available in this area, enabling you to enjoy upgraded facilities including hot showers and plush toilets.

Masked Ball director Kelvin Batt said: “We’ve put the ‘ball’ back into The Masked Ball, with more glitz and glam than ever before.

“With a great team of creative party engineers, you can be assured you’ll be in for some awesome surprises which is what the Masked Ball is all about. It’s not a festival, it’s not a concert; it’s a ball, and we aim to give you the best 12 hours of 2014.”

More arenas and still being confirmed, along with the line-up.
