MAX JACQUARD, a leading contemporary glass artist, will be giving a talk about his work at the invitation of Cornwall Ceramics and Glass Group.

In 2006 Max won the British Glass Biennale where the judges referred to his work as a "deft blend of visual poetry and virtuoso technique".

Eight years later he continues to innovate and defy categorisation.

His work fuses the rich language of kiln-formed craftmanship to a rigorous design sensibility, weaving subtle narrative threads through diverse objects and projects that explore space and light.

In a pair of back to back illustrated talks Max will explore his practice from two different perspectives.

From the inside: as an artist and craftsman, looking to how technique and concept work hand in hand to create a new reality and a unique personal statement.

From the outside: as a designer and entrepreneur, exploring how spaces, projects, and commissions influence the way that work is developed, presented and promoted.

It promises to be a fascinating insight into the world of an artist in glass running a business at the cutting edge of the contemporary scene.

For Cornwall Ceramics and Glass Group members the event costs £15. Non Members £20. Students £10.
