Motorists across Cornwall are being offered the chance to have their tyres checked for safety in an initiative from Cornwall Council, Devon and Cornwall Police and Steve Andrews Tyres.
Safety check days are being held at the following locations:
15 October - Helston, Tesco
16 October - Truro, Sainsbury's
18 October - Bodmin, ASDA
19 October - Callington, Tesco
The checks are part of Tyre Safety Month, organised across the UK by TyreSafe, a tyre industry association.
The Chairman of TyreSafe, Stuart Jackson, commented:
"This is a great opportunity for shoppers in Cornwall to have their tyres inspected by a team of local experts, completely free of charge. And it's especially important at this time of year as we head towards winter and road conditions worsen to make sure your tyres are safe, which includes having adequate tread depth and the correct air pressure.
"Our thanks also go to Cornwall Council Road Safety Team, Devon & Cornwall Police and Steve Andrews Tyres for supporting national tyre safety month at a local level and getting fully behind the campaign."
