Trains between Truro and Falmouth are running once an hour following yesterday's lightning strike.
A replacement bus is in operation to supplement the train service, and valid rail tickets will be valid on the 88 between Falmouth and Truro.
There was confusion this afternoon after First Great Western (FGW) announced the line was closed due to flooding.
But the company has since confirmed they made a mistake in communication and trains are running hourly.
At approximately 2pm FGW said on Twitter that the Truro to Falmouth line was closed and road transport was being put in place.
When the West Briton asked for an update an hour later the train company referred the newspaper to information about yesterday's lightning strike.
After repeated questions FGW eventually owned up to making a mistake. A spokesman said the tweet from FGW claiming the line between Falmouth and Truro was closed had been an error, it has since been deleted.
