THE Nate Najar Trio are the guests of St Ives Jazz Club, at the Western Hotel, on Tuesday from 7.30pm.
Accomplished American guitarist and Charlie Byrd devotee Nate Najar brings his latest project, a collection of tunes composed by or associated with the late, great Byrd to the club.
Performing on Byrd's own instrument, a 1974 Ramirez 1a, this determined music raconteur with an old soul is single-handedly reintroducing the finger-style nylon string classical guitar technique to a new generation of music lovers.
Najar and his group will deliver music ranging from traditional jazz to blues, gospel and sizzling Brazilian bossa nova.
Nate is one of only a few guitarists who play jazz on the classical guitar. Equally at home playing Bach or the blues, Nate prefers a swinging and varied repertoire.
