A FRENCH fisherman was airlifted to hospital last night after suffering medical problems.
Two helicopters scrambled to the fishing vessel 200m South West of the Isles of Scilly at around 6pm.
It is believed the man suffered an epileptic fit.
A spokesperson for Falmouth Coastguard said due to the location of the vessel, it was a long operation, with both helicopters having to refuel on the Isles of Scilly.
Rescue 193 from Culdrose and rescue 169 from Chivenor both attended the incident.
The casualty was taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.
His current condition is unknown.
