Firefighters rescue pony from hole near Liskeard

A pony got stuck in a hole in Liskeard today and had to be rescued by firefighters.

Crews from Liskeard and Bodmin attended the call just before 2pm today.

The pony was stuck below the ground in the Siblyback area.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue said the rescue appliance from Bodmin was mobolised and on arrival crews were able to successfully retrieve the pony.

A vet attended to check over the young animal.
