A CAMBORNE man has been fined swearing at his partner in a supermarket car park.

Jason Willis, 28, of Wheal Gerry, was being driven to mother’s house on May 31 by his partner Kelly Marie Godliman when he became abusive.

At Truro Crown Court on Thursday, Ramsay Quaife, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said the argument led her to stop the car at Tesco Extra in Pool.

He said: “He got out of the car, punched and kicked the car and used foul language.”

Mr Quaife said Willis was arrested that afternoon and gave police a prepared statement saying that the incident had not happened but he later admitted the offence at Truro Magistrates Court.

The case was sent to the higher court for sentence because it put Willis in breach of a suspended sentence imposed on him in 2011 for dangerous driving.

Terry Eastwood, defending, said Willis had been prevented from living with Ms Godliman since the incident because of bail conditions.

He was fined £250 and ordered to pay £85 towards prosecution costs.

Sadly in today's society bad language is tolerated and if you tell someone off for swearing, where years ago you would have got an apology, you are just as likely to get a mouthful of abuse or even be assaulted. It's about time something was done but I don't know what the solution is apart from maybe parents drumming some manners into their offspring from an early age.
