The police are appealing for help in tracing some war medals stolen from a Falmouth couple's home at the weekend.

DC Al Jordan said: "The medals had extreme sentimental value for the gentleman who had inherited them from his father."

The burglary occurred on Friday at about 2.15pm at Longfield and DC Jordan believes the items, which also included jewellery, may have been sold on.

"I am desperate to return these medals to their rightful owner and requesting the assistance of the public to do this," added DC Jordan.

Anyone with information can call the Falmouth station on 101 quoting GP/12/2678 or DC Jordan on 01326 213444 or e-mail 14860@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk.
