AN attacker jailed for life after gouging out his girlfriend's eyes could appeal against his sentence.
Tina Nash was left blind by the horrific and prolonged attack at her home in Hayle.
She has slammed the news that Shane Jenkin might appeal on mental health grounds, telling the BBC that it made her feel sick.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, she said: "It made me feel quite sick".
"The fact that he's [now] saying he was mentally ill - why didn't they pick this up before?
"I want his life sentence to stand, that's all I want.
Jenkin was given the indefinite life sentence with a hospital order in May after admitting causing her grievous bodily harm with intent.
Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed that 33-year-old Jenkin has applied for leave to appeal against his sentence.
