In an attempt to brighten the dull February evenings, the members of an amateur dramatic group in Threemilestone are preparing to launch their 18th annual pantomime next week.
After four months of rehearsals the Threemilestone Amateur Dramatic Society (TADS) will begin performances of Sheer Luck Holmes – The Panto at the Threemilestone Community Centre next Thursday evening.
The pantomime, which was written by Bob Heather and Cheryl Barrett and directed by Geoff Gibson, centres on the theft and recovery of several pieces of art by dastardly villain Mary Arty.
The 21 strong cast, which include two inept policemen a plucky dame and a beautiful leading lady, give the audience plenty of chances to boo, hiss, clap and cheer accordingly.
Hilary Wells, a burglar and chorus member, said: “Its great fun, it’s nice to let your hair down and be involved. Also, we like putting the pantomime on stage for the community.”
Sheer Luck Holmes – The Panto will be showing on the Thursday 6, Friday 7 and Saturday 8 at 7.30pm.
A matinee performance will also run at 2.30pm on Saturday 8.
Tickets are priced at £5.50 on the door or can be reserved by calling Jo Stevens on, 01872 275237 or Barbara Jacobs on, 01872 273555
