An emu puppet was involved in an attack on a man in the centre of Truro.

Police said a man was assaulted in Lemon Quay by another man with an emu puppet shortly after midnight on February 13.

Sergeant David Cook from Truro Police said the incident seemed to be “a prank gone too far”.

The emu puppet was first made famous by comedian Rod Hull.

Mr Hull made a piece of television history in 1976 when his emu appeared to lose control in an attack on television interviewer Michael Parkinson.

Police said the victim of the attack had not suffered any serious injury.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the police on 101.
