A Newquay resident called the emergency services after insulation sheets on the exterior wall of a block of flats came loose.
The exterior insulation of Rocklands flats at Narrowcliff came loose from the building and one Newquay fire crew was called to the scene at 12.37pm today.
On arrival, the crew found a quantity of large cladding sheets coming loose from the first, second and third floors of the building.
Fire and rescue personnel cordoned and made the area safe until the arrival of a building inspector to secure the building.
A spokesman of Newquay Fire and Rescue Service said: “The wind could have blown the sheets into the road opposite the building.
“We checked the area and waited for the building inspector to arrive.
“There was about 25 square metres of the insulation sheets that had come loose."
