Road closed after one vehicle collision on the A38 near Bodmin

An elderly gentleman was taken to hospital following a one vehicle road traffic collision on the A38 near Bodmin this afternoon.

A representative from Devon and Cornwall Police said a grey Mazda landed on its roof after colliding with a lamppost and rolling over twice, according to witnesses at the scene.

The driver was taken to Treliske hospital suffering from minor injuries.

Police were called to the scene, a quarter of a mile from the Halfway House, at 2pm this afternoon.

The road was closed for a brief period of time before traffic was directed around the car.

The police spokesman said the road was cleared by 4.30pm this afternoon.
