A FUN day attracted 15 classic cars and a healthy turnout, despite the sudden death of an event organiser just days before.

Every year Clorinda Goss and her husband Jason have helped to organise the classic car section of the East Pool Mine Fun Day.

Mr Goss said: "Considering what happened the event went very well.

"It wasn't as big as previous years because of Clorinda's passing, but I decided to carry on doing it in her honour.

"We had a total of 15 cars and some great vehicles."

The fun day takes place each year the day after the Carnhell Green Vintage Rally, with many of the cars appearing at both events.

Youngsters in attendance also enjoyed a look around the mine, where they had an opportunity to learn how it operated back in the heyday of mining in the area.

Music on the day came from the ever-popular Red River Singers.
