CORNISH companies are preparing to battle it out for honours at the Cornwall Business Awards 2014.
Entries are being invited in 14 categories, with the winners being announced at a gala dinner at the St Mellion International Resort in May.
The awards are now in their ninth year and aim to celebrate the best of Cornwall's business community and raise the county's profile as a hotbed of quality and innovation.
Falmouth firm Inspired Cycle Engineering (ICE) scooped the Best International Business title and was also named winner of winners at last year's event.
Its chief executive Chris Parker said: "We were delighted that the talents of our people were acknowledged by the judges. To win both our prizes at last year's event held special significance for us.
"It's been a real boost to our staff and helped raise the profile of our business."
Suzanne Bond, chief executive of the Cornwall Development Company, which runs the awards, said: "The enormous diversity, quality and talent shown by Cornwall Business Award winners sends a very clear message that Cornwall is a fantastic place to do business.
"I strongly urge companies of all types and sizes to take part; it's time to step into the spotlight and be recognised."
